Background: The New Jersey Health Care Talent Network (NJ HCTN) has created three high-quality, regional employer coalitions that provide expertise and an inside perspective on current and future healthcare workforce needs, and assist with regional economic development.

Given the complexity of healthcare and workforce development, our goal is to form high quality partnerships between employers, educators, economic development professionals, workforce development systems, and community agencies — advocating, developing, and assisting local initiatives to increase and improve increase and improve the healthcare sector and workplace opportunities for New Jersey residents.

The focus is on sharing industry intelligence and insights about hiring trends, skill and competency needs, and talent gaps. Also working with Government and other stakeholders to open up job and career opportunities to NJ residents.

The knowledge gained from the advisory groups is shared across industry sectors and used to inform and guide the State’s workforce development strategy. The coalition is also working on updating the state Department of Education on industry recognized credentials and ways in which we need to standardize the education to prepare new talent.
